Dee Park’s Oak Tree House opened by Duke of Kent

Dee Park in Reading reached another milestone recently – HRH the Duke of Kent toured the estate and officially opened Oak Tree House on 8th March 2012, HTA’s 60 flat extra care building. The residents are absolutely delighted and say “it’s like living in a hotel!”.

One of the residents, Mrs Muriel Cook, 75, commented: “We are thrilled to bits with our new home and can’t believe how lucky we are to be living here.”

HTA designed this landmark building of 1 and 2 bedroom extra care flats, plus the interiors and landscape,  for Catalyst Housing Group and Willmott Dixon. The building is 3-5 storeys in height and includes a full range of communal spaces; including dining area, communal lounge, IT room, hairdressing / treatment room, sub-lounges, guest facilities, laundry, and an attractive courtyard garden.

At HTA most of our best ideas happen over lunch. The Lunchtables is an online forum to discuss a variety of subjects including, ‘Making Great Places’, an idea that all of us contribute to, and an aspiration we all aim for, no matter what discipline we work within.
