Book of the Month

Dezeen Book of Ideas

The Graphics book of the week is the new publication from web based design commentators www.dezeen.com

It features the best of their blog contributions from architecture, product, graphics and interiors over the last few years.

Particularly nice is the Ink Calendar:

ABC 3D

Check out this amazing pop up book of the alphabet in 3D by Marion Bataille.

Not exactly a kids book, but one of the nicest bits of paper engineering around for a while.

Magazine of the Month – Boat (July 2011)

The creative people at Boat Studio decided to beat the recession by publishing a bi-annual magazine dedicated to covering ‘new stories from a forgotten city’.  The whole team, it seems, decamped for a month, this time to Sarajevo, along with illustrators, photographers, journalists and musicians, to find interesting stories that shed new light on a place that has found it hard to establish a new, post-war, reputation.

The result is an insightful and beautifully crafted magazine that brings a fresh perspective on placemaking in general and Sarajevo in particular.

I will bring in my copy and leave it on reception but please visit www.allaboardtheboat.com for more info.
